What would you say is the most critical role of a leader during a disruptive period?
Firstly, when you’re a CEO, everyone watches you to determine how they should feel about, and react to, a disruption. So, stay calm and analytical as much as possible.
With your senior staff, be authentic about the risks and upsides and develop a plan that you can share with the company as soon as possible.
Lastly, always be open to being wrong in your approach. I am a big fan of transparently interacting with employees on shifts, where you (or we) were wrong, what we learned, and then the course correction.
